Transducer

Does any one know if it matters what order you hook up the three white wires from the alternater to the 3 connections on the transducer under the batter tray?
I know one connection goes to the loom behind the battery, but I didn't pay attention to the other three white ones.
(Since they are all the same color I would think it doesn't matter - but want to be sure.)

You do mean the rectifier unit? The 3 white wires are A/C coming
out of the stator windings,(three phase),and have spade
connectors,these it doesn't matter, the other has a bullet conector.

There is no order, and any can plug into any of the others. But before you
start plugging in wires, did you check for a short on the stator?

Hi jpro8071;
To check for a short between the white colored wires all you need to do
is set your multi-meter to Ohms and see if any of them give a value with the
red lead on the wire and the black lead on the metal frame of the Stator or
the engine, if there is a value (numbers show up) then it is shorted (or
grounded) to the body and will not work. However there will be a value
between the white wires, or there should be numbers showing when the red
lead and black lead each are on one of the white colored leads.
Now if there is a large amount of resistance there will be less output then
if there is less, but it will work. When I say less, we are talking of very
little difference.
The same is for the rectifier, if there is value to the frame then there is
a short, if all the leads read value to the single out lead, then it is ok.
Now here is the difference between a rectifier and a rectifier diode, the
diode reads only one way, and this is the type your Honda 600 uses. So if
there is no value one way, try it the other, or red lead on the 3 white
wires and black on the single wire and then reverse them.
