Engine outta oil pump failure

Bill,
I looked at your greeting page of your group. Nasty looking seizure!
Why does oil pump failure relate to piston seizure, 'cause the
pistons are splash oiled. Did the engine run outta oil? ???????????
There's a tool for pressing out wrist pins on motorcycles, it could
maybe work in your circumstance. It's a hollow sleeve and a reverse
threaded shaft with little arbors to pull the pin outta the piston &
rod. It's a tough deal chopping pistons off.

Hi Miles;
I really tired to use several pullers and the aluminum piston was so
tight that it would not even move. Cutting them off was the only way to get
them off. Pushing the pins through I felt would ruin the upper end of the
rod.

On the subject of Honda 600 fuel mileage;
I averaged 38 to 43 driving alone and in open traffic. The more time I
spent in traffic, sitting at stop signs and the like reduced mileage
considerably. Normal cursing was kept at 65 while on the freeways. I
also noted better fuel mileage when I kept it tuned and maintained. It's
easy to think a Honda 600 is doing ok if it is running well. Oil changes,
filters and right down to tire pressure all works toward better mileage,
small things combine to total a lot.
