voltage regulator

I'm in need of a voltage regulator for a 72Z or info on after market
regulators that anyone might have had some success with.

Dean,are you sure the regulator is bad? Check the male/female plug
connection at the regulator harness,and the wires going into and out
of the main fuse for corrosion. Also the batt,regulator,and
rectifier ground(it's grounded thru the mounting bolt).

Hi Rice;
Look at the black wire at the connector, if it looks broken, loose, out
of .... remove it and ground it to the body. then see if your regulator
works.

yeah, it's the regulator. The problem is that it's charging all the time at about 18.5 volts. It feels like the car lost about 5hp because the thing is charging full on, all the time.

Did you remove the lid and clean the contacts? It is also possible to
adjust vregs. A good auto-electric technician can tweak something in
there to cause the circuit to close sooner.
