Hi Fernando;
I think some were miffed by some of the rules. To have the show work well,
we need a few. 1. is current condition. 2. is only a specific amount of
pictures can be posted, and to keep it right only a specific number can be
sent. You know, if I decide which ones then there is room for discussion,
if you make the choice then you have the best pick of the lot. 3. there
needs to be coordination so everything can be posted. If one is on dialup,
they have a disadvantage to others who have DSL or Cable. And, posting
becomes a problem, so if your file is to large then it can't be posted.
Do we want to try this?
Bill
On line car show.
Re: On line car show.
Should the picture-sets of each car be the same? That is, a certain
standardized set of views (front, back, 3/4 angle, etc). In this way all
cars can be "judged" equally.

Re: On line car show. View on ANZ page (on line car show) photo alb
Hi Steven;
If you go to the ANZ group page and in the photo album under on line car
show, I have placed the only entrants from last year. Limiting it to 5
pictures of your choice lets you do your best to show your car. We all will
be doing the judging and see what the out come is. If you don't want to
take a picture of your cars right side, then you can't be judged for that
side. Same with the engine, you don't open the hood you can't be judged in
that area. Limiting the number of pictures makes the owner be more creative
in taking the pictures. And ascetics such as your better half sitting in
the drivers seat will not help one bit (as far as the judging goes) that is.
Back Ground and preparation will count. But you still only get 5 pictures.
There will be a total of 100 points for the judging areas.
Judged areas could be:
1- 5pts. Paint and panel fit, 1 point off for each panel not looking to
fit correctly, or ding in the paint.
2- 5pts. everything seems to be there, missing a bolt or gas door and 1
point off for each missing item.
3- 10pts. Interior, 5pts front 5pts rear, deduct for missing or unkept
items/seats, wrong items used instead of the correct items. Dealer option
Wood Steering wheels are ok as are wood dash inserts.
4- 10pts. Tires look new, deduct for warn or nasty looking tires, wrong
hubcaps but Mag rims are ok.
5- 10pts. Engine compartment, deduct for missing items such as emblems,
tags, clamps, Jack... or wrong things used.
6- 10pts. Engine, deduct for nasty looking engine, missing items such as
the shrouds, clamps, hoses...
7- 10pts. Owners manual, maintenance schedule, dealer flyers displayed.
8- 10pts. For presentation, back ground and over all appeal to the setting
the photos were taken at. A Yellow car could have yellow flowers in the
background or a Blue Coupe could be contrasting against a white building...
9- 20pts. You just liked the car, and you think it is better than the
rest. And if you think it is only worth 10pts then give it 10.
Maximum point total for any car is 100pts. Just because you count more
than 5 missing or wrong items does not mean you can deduct more points. If
5 is all the points there are assigned for that area then that is all you
can deduct.
Additional mention will be made for the best in progress, longest distance
(from San Diego). Peoples choice. Owners Choice. And Best Sedan, Best Coupe
and Best of the Show.
Does your car have to be completed? no, Does it have to run, I would hope
so, but how can we tell, unless the carb is missing and then we will kind of
figure that out.
Who gets to Judge, everyone that enters a car. Every one else can vote for
their favorites, but it won't be part of the judged event.
This is the Peoples Choice.
And so there will be enough room we can make a separate Yahoo Group page
just for the show.
