Hello,
New to the group. I've just brought home a car I have wanted for the last 15 yrs. A 1972 Z600. Here are the stats:
Serial#-1007331
Engine # n600e-2507269
It has the original engine with 34K on it.
It truly is a basket case. The Engine's bottom end is intact minus a starter. The Rods and bearings are intact. The car was running when the engine was dissasembled. The former owner polished the pistons, he was a motor cycle guy. The pistons are out, the over head cam is out. The sleves are good, I've all the rockers for the head. The valves are still installed. Any way the engine is in two large boxes....
I havent had alot of time with it since I brought it home, but it appears that I am missing the following:
starter, exhaust manafold, all busings for the over head cam & rocker arms, piston rings and connecting pins.
That's just the engine.....
My main problem now is tires and wheels, I've 2 flats.
Do the 1st gen. civic 12" tires fit this hub?
I'll have MANY more questions I am sure, but for now that is the most pressing need so as to roll it into the shed.
thanks,
Kc

Re: new to list
From what I know the 12" cvcc/civic tires to NOT fit. You still can get the 10" tires for your wheels. Or you can get the 13" from certain Mazda 626s - I think the pattern is 4x110 (someone please confirm)
What area are you in?

Re: new 2 list
There are no bushings for the rocker shafts, they ride directly in
the cam box. You need to understand how to check the rod big end
bearings before you can say yours are good. They are not babbit
bearings like a *real* car- hehe. They are roller bearings like a
motorcycle. 10" tires available from any tire store that sells Kumho
or if you have mags you can get 165/70's by Yokohama from Tire Rack
for aprox $55ea. The engine probably has bent valves as that is the
leading reason for taking the top off. Turn the head on it's side and
pour solvent in the intake port watch for leaks, do the same with
exhaust side.

PS, if anyone got the previous now deleted message from me it was

Here is the page to get 10 inch tires for $25 each...tirerack.com ships fairly quickly.
