New Keys

Hi-
I am looking for some key sets. I know I can buy the blanks off of 600miles.com, but where would I get the keys cut? Would any ACE hardware know the pattern, or a locksmith?

I think that Miles can also cut them for you also if you had the locks or another key to start with.

I don't have the keys. I have the ignitions for both cars, but I am not sure if the doors and trunks are the same as the ignition. It would be pretty bad if I had to ship the doors, trunk lid, and ignition, to get some keys. :)

The ignition key is different than the doors and trunk.
You could easily remove the trunk lock assembly or one of the door handles and send it to Miles or take to another locksmith.
I would think that Miles would be better to work with it as he knows the key styles for the sedans and coupes.

I had Miles make a set of keys for me.  I just left the trunk lock with him and he hand filed a key and then made a copy of it.  He might have one that works in your lock on hand.  Get in touch with him, he is a very good locksmith.

My regular job besides Honda 600 specialist and machinist is that I
work full time as a locksmith. If you pull the door handle (sedan)
and clean the spring housing, you will see a number on it. This is
the keycode for the doors & trunk. The first digit on the code refers
to the key blank's keyway. There are 9 different blanks for the
sedan. I stock all 9 plus ignition keys. I wouldn't copy a key for
you unless I had one of the locks. If you gave me the code I could
probably cut a key on our code machine.
There is no key code on the steering lock/ignition switch. Honda
stamped the original keys with the key code and on occasion the
dealer wrote the key codes into the owners manual/warranty manual. If
you can get the blanks elsewhere, you can get most any locksmith to
cut them for you.
