Master Cylinder rebuild

I have a Z600, im in the process of begining to
rebuild....for starters the master cylinder is bad...i
have tried a few resources for a new one or rebuilt,
but its an arm and a leg, i have not so popular 3/4
size Master Cylinder, anyone know where i can get a
rebuild kit for this? Any suggestions on a comparable
replacement that can save me some cash?

JWL, there is a lot to be said about the Honda 600 brake system and it is
going to cost a fair amount to get it back in operation. With the amount of
money you have to put out, I would recommend talking to Miles Chappell (he
moderates this group). Then go to the anzhonda600owners@yahoogroups.com
group and read up on Dot 5 brake fluid. Silicone fluid really does keep
your brake system in great shape for a long time.

Through years of research I found the parts from other cars that
work for the 3/4" master cylinder. However ther are 2 different 3/4"
masters and you will need to dismantle before ordering a kit. Along
with the 4 seal kit you get directions on how to do the rebuild.
I sell the kits for $45.00 + postage. You will have a 99% chance
need to get your cylinder sleeved. This is why you think the master
cylinders we sell are expensive, but after shipping the cores,
sleeving, plating and parts there is not much profit in these brake
parts. It takes probably an hour each from beginning to end to
correctly build a master cylinder. Expect to pay $75.00+ to get it
sleeved.
When you get the master cylinder taken apart, hone it inside. It may
look nice when you dismantle, but honing will show the defects. The
defects will be black marks remaining in the bore. If the black
marks cannot be felt and are just like stains, then you can go ahead
and rebuild it. If you rebuild it without sleeving, it will leak and
drip on your carpets.
I use Sierra Specialty, Sierra uses brass sleeves and has been my
sleeve guy for 10 years. You can reach him at 1-800-4-BRASS-1. I
sell the rebuilts for $55.00 less than the last price Honda had the
masters for 10 years ago. Honda has now run out of check valves and
I have not found a replacement, if anyone has a stash of these,
please let me know.

cylinder...i understand how they are rebuilt, as i
have rebuilt other master cylinders before....i dont
have the equip to hone and sleeve, so i rather get a
fresh rebuilt thats ready to go.
what is your price on them? and do you have it in

The 72 Coupe & Sedan both came with 13/16" master cylinders. If you
have a 3/4", someone else put it in there.
