i pulled off my stock muffler because it had a big hole on the bottom,
i noticed there are 3 1/4" holes drilled on the bottom also evenly
spaced along the bottom, one in the middle and the other 2 on the sides
about 1 inch in, i was wondering if this is normal? it looks like it
was there all along, they are not rust holes. I purchaase a used
muffler but it still hasnt came(been almost a month since the person i
bought it from got my check), and i dont think it will, so im back to
repairing my stock one.

As to the holes in the bottom of the muffler. I drill a single hole in the
bottom back just above the lip. Because, for every gallon of fuel your car
burns, you make a gallon of water. And if you don't drain it out it will
rust out. The water will find a path to the outside of your muffler one way
or another. And, years back, mufflers came with a drain hole. EPA took
them out. So drill a small hole in your muffler and it will last twice as
long, maybe a lot longer.
