I checked the bulbs and they all have their filaments intact. A few of the fuses were out,
probably because they're old. I replaced them but still the head, tail and brake lights don't
work. The turn signals in front and back still work. I can't remember if the side markers and
the license plate lights work or not. I'm just about to give up and send the car over to a
mechanic. Any suggestions anyone?

Sedan ?
Detach the battery, remove the fuse box with one phillips screw. Then
either lightly sandblast (low psi) or wire brush the contacts til
clean. Replace the fuses & connections. If they still don't work you
will have to dismantle & clean the headlight switch. do it in a
controlled environment like a box on a big table. Springs & bearings.
