Hay Kevin;
    There is a KYB shock that works just like the Honda shock.  Fits on the rear just like the originals.
Final cost is about $43.00 each with shipping and taxes.  I have been riding around on these for a few years and they work great.

I also have a set of those lovely shocks on my sedan, and in my opinion, even they are too stiff. Not as bad as the Monroe big blue brain-jarring types, but still a little too much for me. I have to carry about 75 to 100 additional pounds in the trunk to help them work properly on these local Oklahoma "roads", or else they would jar my teeth loose. I have owned several (many) Honda 600's over the years, and am buying these from him to unload the car and allow the rear shocks and axle to actually work as designed, and as I remember.
How did you get yours to take to the light loading without jarring your teeth loose? Do you have nice, smooth roads there? Can I come visit and bring my car? LOL

Can you give us some specs on the new shocks? Are they like the sedan or coupe
shocks? According to the blue shop manual the sedans have Nitrogen Gas Chambers.
Are they the same compression rate or harder? What kind of mounting hardware is
included?

thank for the info again bill but as I said  on the page this shock is a reproduction of the original  i know you are the web page expert and you and i have not had such a good relationship over the pricing of some of your reproduction parts as you may have noticed after your people get pissed at me for complaining about your prices I haven't said another word it seems to me that you dont like anyone else in your repop game I will continue to work on repop parts I wont make any of the parts you repop if you call a truce to the web page gashing.
I know you and miles have been one the web page for a long time and you know your 600s inside and out but there are more and more of these cars coming out of the woodwork all the time and I think we all can work together on keeping them rolling sincerely kevin

Kev;
    Don't get me wrong, this is not me trying to stop the sale of your shocks.
    The KYB shock does bolt in, and since your production is very low, this is an alternative for the people that miss your run.    And KYB has two variations of this shock, the ones listed are made for the front end of a VW 1972 Bug and have a softer ride.  And, the weight is about the same.
    The ones I have on my Sedan took some time to level out but after about a year, I can't tell the difference from a set of new Honda shocks that I have on my Coupe.  All, you must remember that shocks don't make the height of a vehicle, they dampen the movement of the suspension.  There are shocks that have springs attached to support the weight of the car, but not the ones on our 600 Hondas.   A stiffer shock will improve handling if all the other components are in good condition.
