It's a sedan valve cover gasket on eBay and beware some sedan gaskets that came with the Lazorlite sets were shrunken and had to be stretched before use. Easily recognized by 3 letters on leading edge of gasket - is not Honda OEM.

It's essentially a tube of rubber that can be used to seal up oil-pan leaks, valve cover leaks etc. if the gaskets are no longer available (sometimes to put them on the corners of some existing gaskets for extra protection during installation) . Just put down a bead, put everything together, and wipe off the excess.

valve cover gasket

Post by richmccolman »

My old, reused valve cover gasket leaks oil. I've yet to see any available, either NOS or reproductions.
What have the rest of you guys been using for valve cover gaskets?
The thought occurred to me that I could try cleaning the used gasket and coating it with a thin film of automotive silicone sealant before reinstalling. But I figured I'd check with the group to see what others are doing/using.
Thanks,
Richard

Mine leaked when I rebuilt my engine about 3 weeks ago.  I took it of and used some hondabond gasket sealer and it's been great ever since.

Was that "Hondabond HT" that you used, Eric?
(I see there's also a "Hondabond 4".)
