How many leafs in your springs?

Quick poll... how many leafs are on the springs of your Coupe? Two? Three?
I am having issues with my springs - trying to get them to permit the car to sit at the right height, and with the shackles setting in the correct spot. They have two curved leafs and one straight one. I have a spare set with only one curved leaf, and one straight one. Which is more typical??

i have 3 on my 1971 coupe (i know--they're ALL technically 1972's, but the 1971 has the 3-piece bumper)

OK, thanks for all that. Ray pointed out to me that my spare set are likely Sedan springs - apparently Sedan springs have fewer leaves than the Coupe springs. I wonder what the impact of using sedan springs on the Coupe would be...

Lyle, and all,
My Coupe has always sat too high in the back - about 1.5". In an attempt to remedy this, I loosened the rear shackles and pushed the tail end of the springs IN towards the front of the car. This was exactly the wrong thing to do; They apparently were already in the correct place. NOW, my car sits just as high, AND the back wheels are placed incorrectly inside the wheel wells - too far forward! To make matters worse, when I loosened the shackles again and attempted to pull the ends of the springs back out (sticking out the back of the car a bit) they wouldn't budge!

My next attempt to fix this will involve removing the front end of the springs, repositioning the shackles in the back, then reattaching the front ends. We shall see how forgiving the springs are.
Any thoughts on this issue are appreciated.

I can't say the car is now the right height, or the wheels are preciely in the center of the wheel wells, but at least the springs are sitting where they ought to be.

Steve good info, I will check mine when I get it back on the ground.
The "star" washers hold really well. So if the spring or shackle is not in the correct place it will stay that way. Most manuals suggest getting the car on the ground with the bolts loose, then tighten when full weight is on it.
Have fun at the show, bring home a trophy.
