subaru 360 value?
First, I have 2 Honda 600 sedans. (I am qualified to ask questions now that is established :-))
Now, the real question, what is a non-running (barn find type condition) 1969 Subaru 360 deluxe worth? I have offered $750 and am hesitant to go higher till I am sure it's got some value.
I know some of you guys are savvy on them so how about some help?
Richard

Re: subaru 360 value?
Richard,
Nice choices of vehicles (g)
(The "Deluxe" is the basic sedan.)
Body: Depends on the amount of rust, dents, condition of interior, bumpers, windshield and rubber
Engine: Does the crank turn? Are all the parts there?
Based on the answers, it could be worth a little less, or up to maybe $2k or so. Just IMHO.
Consider joining and offering it to the Subaru 360 Drivers Club first. Or, just email me the basic info and I will post it there for you. If you have links to photos, all the better.

Re: subaru 360 value?
They are one of the most undervalued microcars available right now, as they don't command a high price, but they are rugged, reliable, and fun, and relatively fast. I have purchased, very nice running examples in the $1,800 to $2,500 range, so you are probably in the right range for a barn find at $750.00 at least until you can determine whether it will run without major work. Remember that they are two stroke, so you have to be sure that the oil injection system is filled and working before firing it up. If it will run and drive, it is likely worth in the $1,500 to $3000 range, so long as it does not need major rust repairs or a repaint. If it does need those things, then it will max out between $750 and $1800 in my pinion.

Re: subaru 360 value?
I would not pay much more than $750 for that car, or maybe as much as a grand if the engine is free and looks like it might fire up easily. You will not make ANY money on tis car, but if you are willing to paint it, you might have a decent example for not too much money for your own enjoyment.

Re: subaru 360 value?
Well, if it had been further away, then I would not have bid, but it's 30 minutes from home. That was a plus. And it looks pretty complete. I have a 600 sedan that had worse surface rust on it and it's cleaning up very well. I know it's a bit high, but…
And as most of you do, I have a soft spot for tiny cars. I hated to see it get salvaged or worse… When these were new, my buddy and I would go down to Knotts Rambler Ranch in Tulsa and laugh at these (Subaru 360's). I hate to admit it, but we picked the front of the car up (1 person) and would drop them to watch them bounce. I owe at least one 360 a good future… (we were 17 or so at the time). p.s.: we could not lift the front of the vans up, but we tried.

Bids went to $810, I didn't get it. Probably for the best…

Re: subaru 360 value?
Richard,
There's a Subaru 360 sedan that runs and drives for $ 1000. on the Subaru 360 club forum. I think it is located in WV. but not sure.
My advice : join the Subaru 360 drivers club for the ultimate best deal you won't be sorry
