Chuck, if you want the correct battery,  go to your local Honda car dealer, part number 31500-sb2-100m. It is the correct size, posts on the fender side & says Honda on the front.
I put one on my 70, n600 over a year ago. $115.42 + tax from Buena Park Ca, Honda. Looks & fits great.

Re: Original battery? USA source Yuasa NS60 battery

Post by rstevens19 »

My battery saga for the Honda 600.
Eric Geiger suggested that a battery could be found through Batteries Plus, but others said it could not be done.
Chuck Dean found one (actually he bought two) from a Norton Motorcycle shop in England, and at a very good price!
With that encouragement I too ordered one from England, same shop.
Well it turned out that the price went up a little and the shipping almost doubled (they said battery shipping surcharge).
So I cancelled that order and resolved to find a US source for this battery.
I searched worldwide and found them readily available in Malaysia.
Unfortunately, they do not ship outside country.
However, I did find that the current designator from YUASA is 46B24R for an NS60 battery.
Armed with that information I searched the US Yuasa site and found the 46B24R battery in their 2017 application guide as a Japanese Tractor battery .
Taking Erics advice, I went to my local Batteries Plus and asked if they could get it.
Well, they werent sure but they did confirm that they are a valid vendor for Yuasa batteries and made a call to Yuasa in PA to confirm availability and retail price $110.
Great!
But (there is always a but), new shipping regulations for batteries added $18 to the normal $10 handling fee.
With sales tax that put the price at $145.
I guess the guy at Batteries Plus felt sorry for me so he gave me the online order discount, 10%.
So the final price was $135 (w/Core) and would arrive in 4 days.
A few days later I called to see if the battery was on the way and I got another 'But'.
Seems Yuasa US did not have any in stock and there would be a 2 week delay.
I said OK I can wait.
Two weeks later the battery came exactly as described.
So here is the bottom line: The battery is a fresh exact match of the original, total cost $135, with acid/activation, AND the US supply chain has been primed.
The UK batteries are NOS shipped dry and also match for a price of $114 plus they need to be acid filled at a cost of about $10 for a total of $124.
The Batteries Plus part number is CYLNS60-D .
Many thanks to Eric and Chuck, hope this helps collectors. See my attached photos.

However, I did find that the current designator from YUASA is
46B24R
for an
NS60
battery.
Armed with that information I searched the US Yuasa site and found the 46B24R battery in their 2017 application guide as a
Japanese Tractor battery
.
Taking Eric’s advice, I went to my local Batteries Plus and asked if they could get it.
Well, they weren’t sure but they did confirm that they are a valid vendor for Yuasa batteries and made a call to Yuasa in PA to confirm availability and retail price $110.
Great!
But (there is always a but), new shipping regulations for batteries added $18 to the normal $10 handling fee.
With sales tax that put the price at $145.
