Auxillary Heat

I live in Portland Or and just ordered a little, small 12v electric
(200watt) heater to get the chill out first thing in the morring. I
will post an update when it arrives next week. We are having temps in
the hi 30s now

Hi,Chris,I often wondered about those electric heaters,but I'm
sorry to say ,but I think you'll find they consume a lot of power,
and put out a little heat. The best heater I learned about was from
this site,(VW gasoline heater),but they're v.expensive! They burn
gas from your fuel tank! Search E-bay.

Yea know Chris, it gets mighty cold in Japan too, and there is an option for
your Honda 600 that was supposed to help keep your engine at the right
temperature while giving you some added heat. I will attach the page from
the Parts manual. This is the options page for a Honda 360 Coupe, but the
same would apply for a Sedan. The plate fits in front of the grill and has
slits to allow some air to pass but not much. Less air, more heat.
Easy enough.

look on eBay for Ebspacher Heater this is the Gasoline Heater for VW &
Porsche.

what is all this talk about auxillary heat? when i
turn on my honda's heater the car heated up in
SECONDS. i never saw a heater work so well. it
scared me that it worked so well that i turned it off
(thought maybe too much power going to it and it would
burn something out). it kinda smells and feels like a
blow dryer. very hot heat and very hot smell.

I'm with you, my '72 sedan with a coupe motor had a
great heater, I can't say for my current '71 sedan
though, haven't used it. Drive an air cooled VW, their
heaters suck. Too bad VW didn't use an electric
blower, instead of just the cooling fan for heat
distrubution.
