Hi Ray;
The front shocks for a 69 through 71 VW with Ball Joints on the front
end will fit, you must grind the lower mount down (on each side) and flatten
the body seam to keep it from rubbing. It will be very stiff and give you
maximum cornering capability. You will feel every bump in the road. I like
the VW, because they will soften up after a few months of use and they seem
to correct much of the play in the struts if there is any. Another option
is the front shock from a 67 through 69 Datsun 520 pickup. I have been told
this will fit perfect and you can get a softer riding shock for this
application at some of the custom parts stores, e.g. lowrider types. Either
are running about $20.00 to $30.00 each.
