rusty gas tank

Post by isettajoe »

Most 600's have been sitting for years and will need the gas tank boiled out and coated.  I found this out the hard way and got stranded because of a rust-clogged fuel filter.  The tank must be coated -- just cleaning out the rust won't work.  Joe Ward

Yeah, I have a chemical kit that has a 3 stage chemical process. Stage one eats away the rust (you have to fill the tank with nuts and bolts and agitate it) and then a two stage coating chemical that seals it up. I will have to pull it tommorow, looks to be pretty easy. Thanks for the advice.
