Miles really has all the answers when it comes to the brakes. As to the muffler, glass packs are very noisy but seem to be the choice of muffler by many shops. I would look for a small muffler also known as a resonator on many larger 50's vehicles. The trouble with most of the mufflers made today is that they are trying to quiet the exhaust after it leaves the CAT and without losing power. So there is not much dampening in them. The old 50's and 60's Cadillac's used resonators to quiet 15 feet of pipe, and they did quite well. Midas seemed to have them a few years back. You might try them.

Hi Cotton,
Have you tried loosening the hard brake line at the rear just above the axle where goes into a square junction block before it goes into the rubber hose? Maybe it is clogged in there or the rubber hose could deteriorated internally?
103 to 108, what area of the country are you in? I am in So Cal myself near Palm Springs .
Speaking of Midas, I found a Midas receipt in my glove box dated 1989, my car had 33607 on it then and now it has 33654, so now I am curious if the odometer even works or if the car has sat a lot longer than what they guy said it did when I purchased it as he said it had sat for about 4 years, hmmm.

Started answering this and bang it went into outer space. Lines are open all the way the wheel. Dave and Bill both gave me some help too. As one of them said Check wheel cylinder. Did that once and cleaned up good with pliable
rubber but I have worked on MC so long it may well be frozen again. Got it jacked up again and tire off. Will have to go up to the shop and get the homemade wheel puller.
I live in N Central TX. about 70 mi. south of Wichita Falls. Gonna hit about 105* today so needless to day my work day is already over.
My thanks to you and Bill and Dave And Miles and others this lil ole brain can't remember without whose help I would still be at square one.

I see, this will be my next step once I get the engine running, not looking forward to what I will find as the parts for these are hard to find if the main parts are not re-build able.
I already have a master rebuild kit from Miles as I have no pedal at all and recently I found my front hoses to be split.
Bill has already given me the heads up on what I will find internally so now I just need to take everything apart and hope for the best.

We are also at 105 with 45% humidity with the monsoons rolling in, that should push the heat index well above 110 or so, Yeah!
