oil cooler

sorry to bug ya, I have a 72 coupe that I drive to work on fridays and would love to keep it running cooler... I have cooler lines from a VW cooler set, but I have no idea how to make the adapter to the filter, is there any chance that you might have this part modified to fit the oil filter area.. and if you do anychance on buying it from you..

ok well um do you have one that you can take a pic of so I have an idea of how it should ruffly look after modifying it?

The kit includes all the items including assembly directions necessary to complete the installation. 4 hours is a good time if you are handy with some modifications. As I said in other e-mails this is a oil cooler it will not add metal to warn parts. It will help to keep your oil from turning your engine internals looking like the just came out of a tar pit. Heat is the biggest part of engine wear. Making sure the oil is kept at a usable temperature is the best thing you can do for your Honda 600 engine. Yes, the oil in your Honda 600 .is used as not only as engine lubricant but also for the transmission. 20W50 is the weight of oil I like to use, it retains viscosity (that which allows the oil lubricant products to stick to the metal parts. Heat thins the oil to a great extent lessening its lubrication qualities. Too cold keeps the oil from getting to where it needs to go, to hot and it washes away.
Both can have damaging affects to the engine.
So having an oil thermostat helps to keep the oil at the proper temperature.

My two bits is to buy the adapter from Bill. We've been running one of his for years in a very abusive environment (Bonneville, El Mirage and Petaluma - the "pot hole capital of the US") - and believe me, I beat on the car pretty hard.
