Ok, I'm advertising this for an old WWII Marine Fighter pilot - I've known him for almost two years - flown with him, etc.. and I'm helping him pare down his "collection" of toys and misc. I was going to buy this for myself, but timing just isn't right. This is a drop bottom price - and a steal. With some work on your part, this could easily be a $3-5k+ or more car.

The details as I know it. Exterior paint is pretty good,(recently done), interior is ok, but is just about all there I think. Engine bay is ok and could use some cleaning. Engine has all its parts - but one valve is bent,(timing was not correct when it was re-assembled). He has another complete engine and subframes,(and I think a third engine!)- and depending on what is negotiated - he has some extra other parts as well such as extra rims/tires/doors/etc..
The engine will run, but one of the valves is bent. Two choices - he has another good head you can swap, or what is likely easier, he has an entire second drivetrain on the subframe that you could swap. I was going that route - then you could clean up the new engine, etc.. get it all prep'd, then pull the old one, clean the engine bay, and swap it around.
Interior - all there, but not perfect, it is a 35+ year old car now. Carpet, should be replaced, and some other minor items inside.
The car was painted when he got it,(he had it done), so the paint is pretty good but some corner lights are not installed yet. The corner lights he has - I think they are complete, maybe one? has some bad/rusted chrome trim?
I guess bottom line - go take a look at it and decide for yourself. For the money, you can't beat it. Sure, its a project, but its fairly straight forward and he has the factory repair manual.
Since its likely noone on this list is here locally - I don't have any pictures, but if your serious and want to make the trip down - I'll take some time to get you some pictures. He does tend to represent it in a "positive" light - so be aware of that.
e-mail me with questions - but your better served calling Mr. Mahaffey and asking him. He has lots of spare parts for this car - you could sell the extra's for what your buying it for. I don't think he's planning on including all the extras with the $1500 price, but he might include it all for just a few hundred more. Like I said, doors, engine/subframe, extra wheels/hubs/brakes/lights/etc..
I represent this as a project car and/or a driver. You could just change the cylinder head and drive it, but I think its a great base for a full on resto that doesn't need a bunch of work to get there.
As I said above, I was going to buy it, but with me getting ready to move, it just didn't work out. I delayed advertising it because I was trying to find a way to make it work,(and make some cash on this deal), but I couldn't.
I'll answer what questions I can since I was going to buy the car and went over it with a fine tooth comb.
