Window roller tip

I took my broken window rollers and the rail that they role in to a glass shop to see if they might have some replacement parts. He initially said no and after I insisted he must, he did a little digging. He came up with some that were square rather than round and obviously meant to slide rather than roll. He told me they were a Ford part but couldn't give me a P/N or tell me which Ford they may be intended for. The parts fit very snugly in the rail and after a light bead blasting on the rails to remove rust in areas where the original rollers don't touch the new parts moved very freely. Once the door/ window assy. was reassembled with some zinc primer on the rails and a liberal amount of grease, the new parts worked great.
I've included some pictures which aren't the best but should give you an idea of what they look like. The new rollers/ sliders are made with a threaded stud which bolts on just fine at the rear of the door. The front roller however, will have to be mig welded and the stud ground off to clear the window mechanism.

Paul, good idea.
As time goes on, getting high wear parts will be hard to do.
Parts can always be reproduced if enough people invest in a small production run.
If every member supplied one part we could keep our cars going forever!
