Cheyenne, cam regrind cost depends on number of lobes and setup cost.
But some vintage cams need to be welded and reground, that can cost $1,000+.
I would say $125-$200 with your good core, is about the range.
I will get a price from Cam Techniques for a Honda cam next week.

Thanks. I would like a hotter cam for my next project. Wouldn't that require welding it up to change the duration??

Try calling Isky Racing Cams in Gardena CA. They use to regrind cams for the 600's back in the day. They would grind down your cam and send lash caps for the valves stems to makeup for what was taken out. I can't remember if they had different grinds or just one. I did this with some of my cams back in the early 80's.

Hi, I've reground many cams in HD's, brit twins and my 1970 AN600. They will grind from the base of the cam, not the lobe, then blend the ramps to the new base circle. Lash caps or longer stemmed valves will be required to make up for the limited adjustment of our rocker arms. I contacted Engle Camshaft since they once made a cam for the Honda 600. It is described in the Motor Trend, January 1972 "Rapid Transit" article as a torque producing cam.
Here are the specs:
DF1-3
Duration: IN- 286 degrees, EX- 280 degrees
Lift at Cam: IN- 338 degrees, EX- 338 degrees
Lobe Center: 108 degrees

Hi John, you have some great mechanical background and a highly modified Honda sedan!
Do you have a website with pictures and info on your sedan?
We need to get everyone together and come up with spec's for a few cams.
*Stage-1 better than stock, but smooth idle. Hawaiian?
*Stage-2 medium with a slightly rough idle.
*Stage-3 Hot, max power at higher rpm's with a rough idle.
I would want a stage 1 or 2 for my coupe, still want to get 40mpg.
My other cars and bikes are fast.
I will have to measure my stock cams and see what the lift is at the cam.
Not sure how much we can increase the lift before we get too close to the stock piston? Rocker arm ratio?
John, do you know the degrees the valves open and close for this cam?

I measured my stock cams and the lift is (.318") at the cam.
Rocker arm ratio is (1:1) so we have (.318") at the valve also.
Anybody got a Hawaiian cam they measure to see what the lift is?
I know Mike O'Connor has performance cams, not sure what the grind is, he sells them for $175 which is a good price.

Here is a good video of a cam grinder.
Note the grinding wheel is fixed. The cam is mounted between centers on each end, and in the middle with a steady rest if the cam is long. Note on the left end of the machine their is a master that has the cam profile on it, cam shops can have hundreds of these masters.
Then the table pivots as a roller (cam follower)follows the master, pivoting the table at the correct angle and shape. Everything is timed off the keyway or pin in the end of the cam shaft.
