From the stories, it sounds like the pump is putting out some good pressure, 25-35 is plenty.
I just pulled the oil filter assembly apart.
The center tube has 6 flow holes to the center bore.
The top 4 are open all the time to let oil flow thru the filter into the main line.
The bottom 2 are blocked by a ball and spring check valve and are below the filter area.
When the oil filter gets plugged, the ball will un-seat and allow dirty oil to flow into the main line.
The one on my car pops at about 20-22psi.
Seems low, maybe the spring is worn or heat damaged and lost it's tension.
I would think 30-35psi would be right, before we start pumping dirty oil.
Anyone know the factory pop pressure?
