stuck piston, any ideas?

cool beans Richard, glad it worked! just curious, did You have a pnumatic grease gun or did You use a manual grease gun. I was going to ask how messy it was but i forgot when i was working on that Continental, the piston diameter was like 3" so there was a lot more volume of grease. is that engine in an N or a Z600?

It's been a good day. I made my grease zerk fitting on sparkplug adapter and was able to unstick the piston. It will be just a matter of days now before I can fire it up and see if rings are still good or if I need to pull the engine apart.

I bought the cheapest grease gun ($7.95) from NAPA as well as the cheapest lithium grease. The piston was near the top of the cylinder and I already had the cylinder full of PB blaster and liquid wrench (to the bottom of the spark plug hole). So I didn't have to pump in a lot of grease.
This engine is the original engine in a 1970 AN600. Hasn't been tagged since 1979.

could you post a photo of the "New tool" After reading the e-mails, it looks like a lot of progress was made. So I understand.....the grease filling up the space in the cylinder is pushing the piston back down? (As long as both valves are closed?)

If I had thought just a little more, I could have pumped diesel fuel into the cylinder rather than grease. It would sure be easier to get it out.

why not use motor oil instead of grease or diesel?

diesel fuel may have been to thin to use if the cylinders and rings were bad. but yeah I bet that was a mess..lol

i was trying to think it out and i think the deal is that theres no good way to hydroulick it(the diesel fuel) into the cylinder. Its to thin and would leak out of the back of the grease gun.
