Brake Master Cylinder
Re: Brake Master Cylinder
Someone once wrote into Novelty News that a VW Super Beetle master
cylinder would bolt on. It was later said by another subscriber that
it was too long and would hit the heater shrouding. Secondly, the
threads in the VW master are too fine and you would have to either
make adapters or install the German brake nuts onto your Honda 600
lines which requires a Double Flaring Tool.
Other masters may fit, but if you find one it should be of a similar
bore size 3/4" or 13/16" are stock.
If properly rebuilt the stock Honda 600 master is reliable, seals for
the 13/16" master are easier to get as there is no seal kit made for
the 3/4" that is just an on the shelf kit. I make the 3/4" kits from
parts for 2 different cars and it took years to find what they are
from.
