Evil Tweety and Bonneville Land Speed Racing update

Post by jpro8071 »

We spent a full week in Bonneville - and a long week it was. Turns
out there were close to 500 pre-entries - up from 350 two years ago.
90 of those entries were brand new - so they had to spend a lot of
time on the short course (where we run) doing licensing runs.
Between the 8mph headwind and lack of runs (1 to 2 a day max) our best
was only 98.9 mph, with the Crosley actually pulling a 99.1 with a
good tail wind. So Honda still holds the j/pro record, but it is
still under 100mph.
I did get interviewed/filmed (by the car) by Speed Channel, National
Geographic channel and an independent journalist out of Italy. So if
you happen to see a special on Bonneville on either Speed Channel or
NG you might want to turn on the TiVo . . . there might be a honda 600
in it.
Hoping to return in October to try again, but not sure.
