My son left his lights on in his Z600, two days later his battery was
dead. He got a jump and drove off. He made it to the first stop sign
and the car died. He tried to push start it but had the key turned off
so that didn't work. lol. He then got another jump but reversed the
polarity. Now he has nothing, "nothing at all". The battery has been
completely charged up and he still has nothing. So what do I have to
buy, get, or fix? If it is complicated could you please send a pic
too. Thanks in advance for your help.

I went throug similar even thought the battery is recharged it could
still be dead!
They do die after a while
some sooner than others.
if your charging system is not as good as it should be all it takes is
one mistake and the batter is gone.
This is because it was not charging properly for a while
and one day it just had it
Not to worrie you can buy one of those batteries at Sears.
I got one there a few years ago.
Have your battery tested at a local auto parts store for free.
If the batery test stops in less that five minuets after it starts
then the batery is junk!
Like I said I just went through this
Tight belts and a well grounded altenator are also very important
Those should also be checked!
If your altenator pully is shiney then the belts are slipping and not
properly charging
As far as reverse polarity goes.
I have not had any problems after doing that once to years ago and
once again recently
But I do not suggest reversing The polarity but I know it is an
accident we all make mistakes
Heck my ground wire is red!
Came that way when I bought it

Cigarette lighter battery charger
VWs ship to the dealer with such a device (see link below). It maintains
the battery while the cars sit wherever they sit until they end up sitting
at the dealer's lot. I got one from my dealer after I saw some of them
sitting in a pile in an empty office. Generally they're shipped them back
to VW, I was told. The warning that came from the sales person when she
handed me mine was that "it may not work." Apparently, some of the people
who drive these cars around don't bother to unplug them from the cigarette
lighter BEFORE starting up the car. Wrecks them immediately, she said.
Since mine works, I'll be plugging it in my 600 sedan � not my Jetta!
