Hood release

Post by kikaidaao1 »

Hi guys, sorry for the newb questions. I just got a 72 N600 sedan. I
can't seem to get the hood opened...is there some secret 600 trick? I
am looking for a couple of parts, but would like to find a speedometer
inner. I go to Japan a couple times of year(tokyo area) are there any
cool shops I should know about and check out to get parts for my 600?
Thanks!!

Push down on the hood with your right hand, as your left hand is moving the latch (to the left).  There may be some tension in the hood spring that's holding it in place.
Speedometers are available, so keep trying ebay.  The domestic market in Japan didn't have 600's, (360's) and the speedometer are in KPH (plus the dash is different, don't know if it could fit).  The majority of AN600 parts are already in the US, if you find a Japan source, let the rest of us know.

Left = Toward the left fender.
Confusing if you are facing the car, Left is toward the right fender!
Maybe he has a Coupe hood release installed with a cable inside the
car? I did.
Georgee in Watsonville had her safety latch stuck on the wire mesh,
therefore could not open her hood.
