Brakes yet

[cotton]

Thanks to you guys I got the rear cylinders off, cleaned, and back on in
good shape I think.
The master cylinder was a real bear that got blessed a few times and my
hands are small.
I got the first plunger out after pinching my fingers numerous times with
those funny looking pliers before giving up and finding someone else to do
it. Soaked in water for a night and half a day
but cannot get rear plunger out. I have used more brake fluid to slick it
up and did a lot of tapping which worked on the first one but not the
second. Put air pressure to it with no luck.
So once more HELP. Would prefer to get it out in one piece with no damage
as what I can finger the sleeve feels smooth and would like to keep expenses
down till I know for sure it's going be a driver. Thanks for your

Sounds like the secondary piston is still stuck in the bore.  Get a piece of wood, and slam the m/c into it like it's a hammer.  Inertia will usually bump it out.  If that doesn't work, seriously, buy a rebuilt unit from Miles C. and be done with it.

Right, I had them out and like Bruce said I whopped with a 2x4 and a brass hammer and it came out.  Everything cleaned up good and rubber cups looked good and pliable.  But after getting it back together it is leaking at the push rod end.  I did lose the washer under the circlip but replaced it with one that looks to be equal but I wouldn't think the washer
would have anything to do with the leak huh?   Reckon I'll take it apart one more time and check it out and if that don't solve it I'll have to get a kit or another one.  Thanks for tip.
    I wondered what was the purpose of those two bolts.

I rebuild a lot of masters and have some of the worst stuck parts you
will ever see. The pistons are actually more valuable than the body
since they rust away.
My typical routine is like Bruce said, remove circlip & 2 retainer
bolts. Wrap a paper towel around the master too keep from wearing the
brake fluid if any. Wallop the master against a 2x4 . If the piston
won't come out, I use a punch and drive the piston in farther. I then
Hone the cylinder and wallop it again. Once the first piston is out,
drive the 2nd in again and hone it again. Honing removes any crud
sticking out that keeps the piston from coming out.
I'm about to rebuild 2 master cyls tonight and some wheel cyls, I
