dragging front brakes

I have dragging front brakes after using the brake pedal. I have a resleeved master cylinder, rebuilt rear wheel cylinders, rebuilt calipers, everything flushed with dot 5 fluid and bled, new check valves in the master and all other parts in brake system like new. I still have to wait for the brakes to release after stopping with the brake pedal before I can drive again. Does any one know what is causing the issue?

sounds like front brake hoses are stopped up at calipers. seen it a bunch
of times over the years. Oh by the way Micro Munster Rat is

internally collapsed brake hoses, which are acting like a one way valve, allowing hydraulic pressure to expand the brakes when you step on the pedal, but the brake springs are not strong enough to force the fluid past the internal hose obstruction, causing the brakes to drag. Replacing all rubber brake hoses should solve this problem.

Is that DOT5 or DOT5.1 you put in there? it is important!!!

I am using DOT 5 only not DOT 5.1, I have not heard of DOT 5.1, this N600 has been sitting for over 30 years and we had to flush and clean the entire brake system it had a clogged left rubber line and clogged rear rubber line. The front lines show some small amount of outer deterioration but all the lines were cleaned and flushed and flow very well at this point. The front brakes take quite a while to release after using the brake pedal no matter if the engine is on or off and the booster has no vaccumm. I was wondering if the new check valve could be bad in the master cylinder or maybe the check ball in the booster is not releasing but I don't know if the booster would cause this.

You should check all the old postings on dragging brakes. You didn't mention rebuilding your brake booster. There's a reaction valve in there and its aluminum in housing aluminum. It gets stuck and your brakes drag.

Check you have enough clearance between the pushrod and the brake master cylinder.

Hi in the uk DOT5 is silicon based and DOT5.1 is alcahol based stupid way of numbering!!! they don't like each other but on reflection i don't think that is your problem i would go with Chas as a first check is it both front brake's binding or just one? is there a brake bias compesator in there i've had issues with them, http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-n600_model14 ... ml#results caliper piston sticking? the only thing that "returns" the fluid to the master cylinder is the deformation of the piston/caliper seal/ring if the piston has any marks or corrosion it wont return there are no springs in there to return the fluid, the yoke and spring assembly must be free to slide any binding in this will cause problems.

Hi again i am assuming your car has disc's on the front if it has drums a rethink is in order.
