Oil seal for distributor 72 honda coupe

Post by bobs600honda »

OIL SEAL (20x30x5) - 1972 HONDA Coupe (91203-551-005)
I am curious as to whether I must find the exact honda part, or if the oil seal must just match the dimensions of 20x30x5?
Thanks for any info.

I'm sure someone will chime in with your exact answer but in the mean time, i used the one Bruce sells on his website and it hasn't leaked at all.

Hi Bob,
Make sure the seal is suited for the application.
Is it for the correct direction of rotation?  Is it suitable for the temperature of the engine?    And is it suitable for the rpm range?
And if you make a mistake,  at least it is easy to change the seal on the distributor.  And easy to see if it is working correctly.
good luck,
Dale

I have some that are 5mm wide with 2 lips instead of 1. I order them from Applied Materials for about $3.39ea. I sold some but never got any feedback as to their performance and have used them in my cars.
Part # is same as seal size TCM Part 20x30x5TC. The box is dated 2007
