Hi everyone,
I figured out how to get the torsion bar in place, but every time I try to close the hatch the torsion bar popped out. It doesn't look like anything is broken, and according to the other torsion bar everything seems to be in place. Does anyone know of a reason why this is happening?
By the way, when the torsion bar broke loose it chip the paint on the roof of the car!

It's better if you don't use the torsion bars. The extra stress on the hatch causes the stress cracks. Usually the reason they pop out of place is the pawls are worn.

Yes, Bell Glass company in northwest Phoenix did the job. They had no problems! They actually had the windshield out of the car in less than six minutes, and had finished the entire job in less than an hour. After watching them, I dont understand why everybody was so afraid to do this job. I literally had to call six or seven different shops before I found somebody who is brave enough to handle this glass.
Miles chapel, who owns this list, also says that its a pretty easy job, and he has changed many when Scheels.

well chuck I am in AZ also but way up north close to Lake Havasu and someone told me safelite glass( miss spelled ) can do it but have not called I just order the rubber mines so hard its cracking its as hard as rock so I do know it will be a little harder to get out with out braking it and the class has some small chips not big and lots of small scratches that Im ok with been on the car since I got it back in 1982 so I shore hope I can find someone to replace my rubber and save the glass but thanks for telling us

Personally, I would stay away from Safelite. Safelite is a national chain, and the guys that they use are all a bunch of young technicians. You need to find an old-school shop, with a couple of old geezers who know how to do things like in the good old days.
My windshield also had a chip in it that had been repaired, and the rubber surround in the windshield although it looked OK once they started removing it broke away very easily.

well I will do some looking around but they guy that put a new window in my truck told me they had some older guys that could do that and have done them before but I will do some calling around but its slim pickings around here LOL country living but thanks will have to look around if they brake the window my insurance has to buy me one as I have full replacement
