New Addition to the Group

Post by redeuce52 »

I purchased a 1971 N600 Sedan about a month ago. It's been in
storage since 1986. I towed it home and have been working on it ever
since. All I have left is to replace the fuel lines and fuel filter,
and add oil and the new filter. The car belonged to the service
manager of a Honda Dealership in the Chicago area. Before parking
it, he had the mechanics go through the whole car. I hooked a
battery to it last week and all lights, signals, horn, heater, etc
work. I've got the front brakes working and am working on the rear.
All the shoes are new, I think it's the proportioning valve or
master cylinder. The emergency works, but no movement when pedal
pressure applied. The body and floor tubs are completely rust free.
Not a dent or ding on it. I can see they did a lot of work on it
before it was parked-many new parts-ignition, head gasket, muffler,
brakes, etc. The valves were even in adjustment. Was painted, but
will need a repaint due to heavy cover rubbing on it for 18 years.
Catylitic converter rotted through. Basically a rust free, clean
project. I hope to have it running by the weekend. I'm sure I'll be
visiting here often for help and advise.

Correction-The Primary Silencer is rotted out, not a catalytic
converter.
