Constant Transmissions in Honda 600 Z cars or Coupes

To the Groups;
The question came up the other day in a conversation; Did Honda ever
manufacture a Honda Z600 or AZ600 with 10 series engine or rather with a
Constant transmission? As all Sedans built up to March 1971 or chassis
number 1033852 when the 15 and 25 series engines hit the market in April
1971.
Well No and maybe Yes. The Honda Club from France sent me a Title
certificate indicating that the first Honda Z600 Coupe sold in France had
chassis number ZXXX-XXX-XXXX with engine number 2000001. The e-mail from
Philippe Lalanne states that it was a prototype that was sent to France for
car a show and not titled until December 1971. But I have Chassis number
AZXXX-XXX-XXXX with engine N600E-2500104. And another chassis AZXXX-XXX-XXXX
with engine N600E-2500044, on my list. And, although it is the only one,
either it is a type-O or as a preproduction Z600 it had a constant
transmission.
Any other Official documents?

The answer is yes they did.  The z600’s sold in England and France both had this transmission.  The chassis numbers for France started with 1005285 and
England
1005916.  The engine numbers started a N600E-2000001.  This information is from parts manual from Europe .

Hi Robert, can you scan in the page your referring to?  I have also looked through many shop and parts manuals.  And, the Sedan Shop manual also said each started with 2500001.  But as I collected all the numbers I could, even of engines out of their cars, there are only one set of numbers.  And all of them started with 2500001  and not 2000001.

I’ll get it for you when I get back home in a couple of months.  I was at home when you asked the question and had my manuals handy.  I purchased some parts from the UK that came from a coupe but no engine parts.  I know that they don’t have the pressure sensors on the master cylinder.  I’ll see about sending an email to the people I bought the parts from and see if they have any numbers from the car they had.
