The big difference between the first series (or A series) is the transition from constant transmission with one over drive gear (4th) and the full synchro transmission with two over drive (3rd and 4th) gears. The engine numbers are significant to Honda 600's destined to the US as these engines were detuned from 45hp to 36hp.
