removing gas tank

I am in the process of removing gas tank and cleaning and sealing. I
cannot get off bolts from top back of tank, the nuts spin free and they are not accessible through the three small slits. Screw driver didn't work, any suggestions?

I am talking about the bolts that hold the tank on the body.  The tree screws closest to the bumper. They are supposed to not move, but they move freely.

I have the Sedan which has 2 bolts in the back (one on each corner kind of). Mine came off pretty easily - sorry I can't help

Kevin;
It sounds like your removing the tank on an early Coupe, correct?
Are you unscrewing them from the access points in the spare tire area?
If that is where you are, then jam a screw driver against the bolt head and drill it out.  After the tank is out get some clip on nuts like the coupe has built after 1 Jan 72.   You will have to grind the old nuts off (small spot welds) to make the surface smooth.   It should go back in easy.
