Cam Chain Guide Roller
Should the cam chain guide roller have some kind of teeth in it? The shop manual shows 1 picture with and 1 picture without.

I have never seen teeth on the cam chain guide roller (positioned between the cylinder head and the cylinder barrel) for Honda 600 vehicles sold in the US. The new roller would have 2 grooves which matched the chain's width. I have seen these rollers look pretty worn without causing a problem. I don't use them when they show cracks in the plastic material or the hole where they rotate has too much free play.
The cam chain slipper at the front of the barrel section can also look pretty worn but it needs to fit in place without movement (it is held in place by pins/rods at the top and bottom).
If you are rebuilding an engine, it is best to replace these items with new parts. But if you don't have new parts, pick some used parts which still have a decent amount of material still left.
