Steering

I have about an inch play side to side. Any ideas on how to tighten her up so i don't feel like i'm wandering down the road??

Hi Laurie;
Look at the bottom of the steering column where it goes through the fire wall.  The wheels are not moving, but the pinion shaft is moving up and down.  This means that the Rack needs to be rebuilt (no, the tie rod ends and ball joints are not bad nor do they need replacing).
There is a member of the Group (Lyle Trudell) who was making rubber sleeves to fit over the brass bushings in the rack for the pinion shaft.  You can contact him at Craft59@...
, and I have a how to rebuild the rack on the ANZhonda600owners site or I can send you the Power Point on how to do it.  Not hard, just takes a bunch of time.

Hi Bill, I went inside the car and grabbed the end of the steering column at the firewall and it does move up and down maybe 1/4 of on inch or more. I can't really measure it. Now what?
