It's the same kind of wrap they used to use on road bicycles or at least similar I believe, just got to find a bike shop that carries some of the old school stuff.

Does anyone know where i can get some of the classic 70's steering wheel wrap? the stuff with the tiny holes in it that also has the piece of leather shoelace looking material as well wrapped over the top.. I don't know if it was an option when purchasing or just an aftermarket item but i see it a lot on pictures of honda 600's and i want some to cover my cracked steering wheel.

The bicycle stuff is ~ 1 inch wide and comes in a roll. I believe Eric was asking for is the singular band that stretches over the wheel, and is diagonally wraped and laced with cord (that stuff you make lanyards out of from summer camp).
The Honda 600 accessories brochure page 7 has a photo of three steering wheel covers. Part #'s are Black 54182, Red 54183, and Variegated 54184. The black and red looks exactly like the kind you used to find at Pep Boys (O'Rilley, whatever).
