Hi Mark,
Your video seemed to indicate the "Factory" fuel pump could not handle your high speed testing. I believe you meant to say that your particular fuel pump could not handle the test. The factory fuel pumps had no issues with running the coupes at 65 mph or whatever speed you could get the stock engine to run.
Did the fuel pump really fail or did your run into a problem with a clogged fuel filter?
BTW, was the speed limit in the stretch of road you were testing posted as 55 mph?

before you ash can the fuel pump some things you can check. This same thing happened to me when I bought my car.
Pull the line before the filter and check flow, (new filter?) if you have plenty put it back together and check flow at the carb. Also put some of the gas in a quart jar to see if there is anything in it. If everything checks out so far pull the carb off and remove the tiny filter in the carb. That is where I had my big problem.
I know you know all this but sometimes it helps to hear it from someone else.
And I am sure someone else that knows way more than I do will Chime in.

You are so right. I had installed a fuel filter before the pump. I found it full of rust. The Honda fuel pump tests about 2psi.
I think my fuel pump is a tad weak. It was seized when I got the car.

Hi Mark,
A reading of 2 psi is a bit low. It should be about 4 psi. You can also check how much fuel it pumps into a container. The spec is 1 liter per minute which is a whole bunch more than your engine could ever use in one minute.
