Yahoo groups, Facebook, Twitter, and all the other social media programs are all great ways to advance knowledge on any number of products.  But the Yahoo Groups are established, the program allows an amount of quick action against spammers and people trying to turn it into something other than what this group was intended to do.  If Facebook was both a better and simpler way to do it then maybe we should go that way.   But it has a learning curb, it has a different way to secure your information and it is easy to allow people that have a different agenda to get in.
There are ways to secure the site and allow only people you want in but then why move from Yahoo, it's already running and you don't have to log into it to read e-mail from the group.  So I am staying with Yahoo Groups.

I've been with Facebook before it was popular. I found it was a good way to keep up with my buddies from the Navy. When MySpace died out it was an easy switch for me.
I do love the forums format. There is so much knowledge on them it's ridiculous.  I use multiple groups for fixing my Volvo's. I'll also use you all here as I work on my 71 sedan.
Here is a link to my Facebook album for my 600 project.

is there some way to channel those interactions into our email group so our groups can stay combined. so that ,if we can't answer, we can at least know what's going on?
In fact, do you know how to just channel gmail of one gmail 'group' to another, our, yahoogroup? because I have both; If I can get them, I should be able to get them all channeled into our whole yahoogroup, right?
maybe this is all too complicated. I'm even worse with computers than honda600 engines.

I will gladly use both but yahoo is great for looking up old info and researching old posts.   I see the yahoo group as more of a relaxed photo sharing spot.   I would never use Facebook to start searching for issues with timing or carbs where as I am always going back to the yahoo groups and looking up posts from years back.
They each have a purpose IMO but yahoo is will always come first for trying to solve a problem or get help with a car issue, its just too established whereas Facebook is for playing around and bullshitting

Sorry I mis-typed that statement.   I meant I see the Facebook page as more of a photo sharing hang out NOT the yahoo page.
