So bought this project car. Runs, no brakes (emergency work), gears work (got it to 4th ) on the road (to 50mph). Wondering where to start with the refrib. Would like to show it off asap. Have the money to work on it ($1500). Any ideas? Joshatc

I'd start on the brakes. And not leave the shop until they really work Running down the road at 50 mph and only the emergency brakes work? In a real emergency, ALL you'll have is a prayer.

Ok, that was dumb of me, Dah. Who should i send my send my master cyl. too and should i automatically rebuild the individual cyl.?

Congrats for your new ride, I just sended mine a couple of weeks ago ill stop by tomorrow and ill find out what would be the price for rebuilding the brakes, also I left my clutch and flywheel and my front rotors

in reality though yes brakes,  then do a good tune up on it.  points, condenser, timing adjust, valve adjust, oil change, spark plugs.  depending on the amount of miles you may need to look into a timing chain.
also depending on the shape of the ignition coil you may look into getting a new rebuilt coil or rebuilding it yourself.  As well as having the carb gone through.  I'd do a compression test and see how good the compression is so you know if the engine is worth sticking money into first or if its gonna require more than just some tuning to get running great again.
Also it depends on what your plan is for the car.  Just to have a good runner or are you looking to make it a looker as well.

Try a rebuild kit if it works go with it if it leaks buy a resleved one and then use the kit that you bought and then you will be golden.  I would change the lines and re build the cylinders at the same time  Kurt
