Portland was voted #1 most livable city in the USA for 2013. Portland normally has a great mild climate for enjoying Microcars year round. Portland can't handle snow. The whole city shuts down. Portland has no plows, no rock salt, no snow blowers. We've been snowbound as a family for three days. Nobody is prepared for a big snow in Portland Oregon. It just does not happen. When it does, it's all .....fun fun fun ! Fernhill Park was a sledder's paradise. Kids riding everything and anything that would go down a hill. Vernon Grade School was out in abundance. It's fun to see all the parents out. Portland is a great city, but NOT a snow town.
