I have just started tearing apart my 71 N600….
Does anyone have a good source for tie rod ends with boots? I have seen a few on line without boots but….

You might try Consolidated Motor Sports (CMS) in The Netherlands, as a last resort.� They won't be cheap, but they might have them.

I have disassembled the first strut and found very little oil. Found grit and dirt inside.
I am thinking that while it is apart I will replace seals, etc.
I seem to recall reading a document about rebuilding these struts…..does anyone have this??

Not sure if strut is leaking yet – to much dirt….
I am using good pullers with cap to protect threads.

2 things, 1- you don't have to remove the tie rod end, just unscrew it. Then remove the strut. 2-do you have the ability to read power point programs?
Question: Do your struts leak? If not you can refill them. The damper oil (in the strut) is old and is most likely dirty and needs to be changed out.
The tool you need to remove the tie rod end is this
http://www.freedomracing.com/universal- ... 894-a.html I use this all the time. Put a cap nut (the cap nut to the Honda 600 head works well) on the end of the tie rod to keep from damaging the threads.

My immediate problem is getting the tie rods off the strut arm……heat and patience has not worked yet.
Struts need rebuilding so need to get it apart….

I have been looking into making them, but they wouldn't have the metal ring at the base. It wouldn't be needed because the nut/base and part holding the tie rod end and the same for ball joints would be holding them in place. Are you interested?

There have been some posts regarding the quantity of oil for the struts. I found it beneficial to sketch out the pieces as I pulled them apart, or make notes on the part diagram, as there are quite a few things stacked on the strut. I had a hard time finding the gland seals, the main seal is a tall u cup. I think others have had success putting a shorter seal in there, I ended up getting some 22x34x10 (K21-022/7 PU) seals and 22x30x5 (K21-022/11 PU) seals from Kastas seals in Turkey. Since that isn't very convenient, I ordered a few spares. If you would like a set, let me know.

Great work, I put a power point together on how to build a strut compressor to take the strut apart along with removing the old damper oil and replacing it. I found 20-weight motorcycle fork oil to work well.

Any ideas where I can get spring bumper (8), spring top seat busing (9), and dust cover (7) for N600 front strut?
I tried CMS and Honda600 but no luck….
The sleeve part (bottom) of the dust cover is completely gone – but the top part is still intact. So I can still use it if needed.
The bumper is completely missing – probably hardened up over time and cracked away.
