Post by chimos2000 »

i need a radio and the plastic piece that goes around the radio and
the fresh air vent for a 72 Z. If any of you guys with parts cars
have one or both you're willing to part with, let me know.

Well, if you put a Sedan am/fm radio in a coupe you had to do a bit of
chopping, (Coupe radio's are not as wide as a Sedan radio) the coupe speaker
(1) is under the center section of the dash above the radio. Where is your
AM Coupe radio?

Yes, there were as there are now, after market radios for cars. But, Honda
did have a radio for the Sedan and one for the Coupe. I have factory
installation directions and parts numbers in factory option lists. Just
because your dealer didn't see it does not mean they were not available.
Other Factory options were Sedan Clocks, roof racks, half folding forward
rear seats, pop-up antenna, fog lamps and exhaust tips. Your radio is an
after market radio. But the speaker for the Coupe goes under the upper
center of the dash. However, I guess you could bracket two 8 inch box
speakers on each side of the body and they would act like head phones.
