Anyone have any information on these pickups?
I had heard that a Honda dealer in California had a dozen or so converted when the N600 first came out. It looks like a pretty slick job, since they reused the Honda rear window and trunk lid!

N600 Pickups on Ebay
Re: N600 Pickups on Ebay
Ken,
Yes, I was emailed two years ago by the seller, who wanted assistance in selling the cars. At that time they claimed the first was a factory made car, and the 2nd one was their re-creation of the first.
I asked for authentication/evidence of the claim or at least, the vin number. No response. I mentioned this to Miles Chappell, who said the claim was based on the use of spot welds in the construction.
As for a California dealer making pickups, don't know, perhaps that's what happened.
Bruce
BTW, does anyone know about the 'Rembrandt' trim pak?

Re: N600 Pickups on Ebay
Hi Ken;
Petersen Publishing printed a publication called "The Complete Book of Japanese Import Cars" in the early 70's. On page 126 it speaks of a Southern California Honda Dealer Bill Krause that had a Hawaiian Export Version Honda 600 converted into a Pickup. A rather nice looking item. But, it differs from the two displayed in e-bay in that the rear trunk area had side panels extending the bed over the rear bumper pan. It does not say anything about more than this single car being constructed but does say that it cost an additional $1600.00 to be done.

presence in Emmaus/Allentown Pennsylvania as well, where he sold
Hondas new and as recently as the early '90's still restored,
displayed and sold 600's (and other minicars like Isetta's). I'll
have to dig out my pictures of the place from my last visit.
The $1600 for a pickup conversion only doubled the original MSRP (I
still have the window sticker from my original N600, somewhere).

Re: N600 Pickups on Ebay
I would be surprised if these were factory built, since they already had the TN360 pickup for sale in Japan that could hold alot more stuff than this one. And if Honda did want to make an N pickup, wouldn't they have used the tailgate and rear fenders from the LN360 wagon?
I still would love to have them if I had some room (and a way to get them to Pennsylvania)!
