Buyers beware. I live in Upland and have seen this car for sale in the
local supermarket parking lot. The pictures of it were taken carefully
to not show how bad the car is. The seller won't return emails or phone
calls, as I tried calling on it from the sign in the window. If you buy
it, don't expect it to look anything like the pictures.

you're right, the car DOES look good in the pictures--can you please tell me what specifically you observed as being defective/misrepresented?--i know you don't have it out for the guy personally--but all he says is that the paint and interior are recent--doesn't say ANYTHING about rust (is that what you're referring to?)---or running condition--starting price of 2,500 SEEMS reasonable given the pictures--please let me know what you find to be wrong with the car--i WAS (and maybe still am) interested in it, but i trust your judgement--any feedback would be helpful

Hi Paige
It's kinda like my uncle's 1957 Chevy Cameo pick-up. He bought it
new, always garaged, but he used it. Normally you would think that a
Cameo truck would be a good deal. But if you look close, every chrome
piece is cracked or broken, not fixable, needs replacing. Dents
everywhere.
From a distance when I first saw this car I thought I had found my
Honda. My wife and I pulled up next to it, and we both thought, hmmm,
to make it nice, you would need to redo a whole bunch of stuff. The
dash was bad, front end bumperette's missing and dented. Interior,
was done OK. AT $2,500.00 it's probably an OK deal. But if the
bidding gets bid up to $4,000.00 the winner will get it and say he
spent way too much on it. I just bought mine for $5,000.00 but the
body is perfect! And I do mean perfect. Never ever been in an
accident. The local painter here, who is excellent, would spray it
for $1,800.00 in two tone without having to do any bodywork, none!
Everything works and the padding underneath the carpet looks like it
has never been damp at all. ANd it's an early model with the blue
exterior and red interior. If you want an OK car, this might do the
trick. Take it to a Honda show, and park it in the back. I just think
that it's a little deceptive. Why won't he call me and let me come
look at it and drive it? I emailed him several times and the number
he gave is never answered and the mailbox is full. I live in Upland.

given the car as a whole, it probably isn't really so bad--my car also looks showroom from a distance, but it has little dents everywhere (not from accidents, but from people leaning on it--these things are REALLY thin on the sheetmetal) --it would be nice if he'd answer his phone--that's something that really bugs me--even at 4k, it's not a bad deal--colector/interesting cars are hard to come buy in driveable condition for this kind of money--we are actually very lucky to have been bitten by such a small bug--the price of admission to collector jags, for instance, is CONSIDERABLY MORE--
