innertube

My rims are so rusted at the valve stem that they will not hold air. Has anybody used an innertube for the 10" tires? If so where can I get them?
I see lots of 10" innertubes on ebay for Moped's and Motorcycles but I don't know if the valve stem would be in the right position. This may sound like a dumb question but would the tube size be the same as the tire size - just want to be sure.

The sedans had tubes, my sedan has the old Bridgestone tires and they have tubes in them. I am sure you can still get them, if not my sedan is a parts car.

Hi Kevin;
There are two types of inner tubes, the ones for Radial tires and the other kind. None of them were especially helpful unless the rim would not hold the bead on the tire to keep it from leaking. I used them on rims that even when sand blasted would be to pitted to allow a tubeless tire to keep from leaking.

There is also a product called "Bead Seal" that some tire shops carry. It comes in a small can with a brush attached to the lid and paints on the rims almost like tar. I have seen it used on rims that were deeply pitted with great success. Clean them up as much as possible and paint them with a good qualtity paint for rust before having the tires mounted. As long as the valve stem will stay in the hole, I would say that the Bead Seal will work there also. You might try it on your worst rim first. If you go with inner tubes, as Bill said, make sure you are using the correct tube to match the type of tire you are mounting. (i.e. Radial Tube/radial tire) or it could cause you serious problems at highway speeds.

I have had good luck to sand blast the rim, then spread silicone seal into the pits and silicone seal around the valve stem.
Secondly, you can buy radial tubes from Mini Mania. They have at least 2 locations and inner tubes for less than $13.00 ea.
