I WANT ONE!!

Post by mrjel58 »

I remember these cars from my youth, laughed then but really want a restorable one now! I just can't afford to put gas in my Geo Metro any longer!
If you know of one near middle Georgia, PLEASE e-mail me. I'll consider cars in any shape, but would like a mostly complete specimen.

My 1993 Geo Metro 3 cylinder with 993cc motor and 5 speed trans got 43 MPG. Honda 600 gets 38 MPG if you go easy on it. If I am driving best MPG I ever got was 32 MPG.

Just remember to buy the very best one you can find. This is true on any restoration. If you start with a crappy vehicle it will cost more than it is worth to get it in proper shape.

My Honda 600 Coupe, on the highway, averages an MPG in the low to mid 50s and low to mid 40s around town... It may be time for a rebuild... You should be getting better MPG then 32.

Yes but a Honda 600 coupe is geared differently than a 1970 sedan having crashbox trans. 32mpg was my average around town - burn em off the stop roadracing behavior of the 80's. :-)
Honda only claims "up to 40 mpg" in their 1972 brochure. And don't forget an Imperial Gallon differs from a USA gallon and the speedometer is off calibration from the factory by 5 to 8mph. Also since the original sedans came with taller tires....
My Honda 1967 motorcycle sales booklet claims the Honda 50cc motorcycles get 200mpg decreasing down to 60mpg for the 450cc bikes.
