Seeking correct carb float level specs 72 AZ600
I am needing correct carb float level specs for a 72 AZ600. I cant find it in the factory manual, and my Haynes manual list several carbs and by carb index marks, and I am not sure which one I have as I cant find any marks,These marks are listed as N6B,N6C,N6D,N6D1,N6D2 and 6NM. The measurements are 16mm, 22mm, 23.5mm. Does anyone know how I can identify carb to know which setting to use? Brad

Page 45 of the coupe manual lists the float level as 20.5 mm, they put it in the maintenance section instead of the carb section for some reason... I'm not sure about the markings, mine have some stamping on the top of the body at the choke end of the carb but they do not the match your listed codes.

Hi Brad,
Look in the front portion of the coupe service manual for the float level setting. It is in the tuneup section. Here is the kicker .... the metric value of the float level listed in this section is correct. The value in inches is incorrect. For your american Z600, the float level would be 0.807 inches measured from the top of the float to the mark on the body. The float should be positioned so you are at the transition point where the float valve is going from on to off, I will use a tube connected to the fuel inlet of the carb and blow into the carb. I will then change the float level until I find the point where it just turns off.
